An image burns bright in my mind of a day on the Florida gulf coast beach sunnying on a blanket and my boyfriend walking out of the waves onto the white sand with clear water droplets cascading off his broad shoulders while he smiled his lovers smile as he sat down beside me.

I will cling to that beautiful memory for comfort as the BP oil spill disaster continues to destroy the beauty of our coastline. My heart weeps for the people, animals and vegetation harmed by this disasterous event. God helps us overcome!

Heros in our land.

I am amazed that we do not know the unsung heroes of our nation until they pass from us and we read about their achievements in the newsarticles about their life.

Among the unsung heroes is:

Pernell Roberts (Adam on Bonanza; died Jan., 2010)

John Denver (composer, singer)

There are so many that enriched our lives and we were so unaware of their great deeds. I wish to be ever thankful for our unsung heros.
